Industry

Idaho WinesI recently touched on the great wines coming out of Idaho (see my earlier review on Sawtooth Winery), and thought I would share two press releases I received from Moya Shatz, Executive Director of the Idaho Grape Growers & Wine Producers Commission.  The first press release recaps the economic impact the wine industry made in 2008.  The second outlines the long-term strategic plan required to move the Idaho wine industry forward.

In 2008, Idaho’s wine and grape products and related industries contributed nearly $73 million of total economic value to the State of Idaho. Idaho’s wine and grape products and related industries account for 625 full time equivalent jobs across the state and for $19 million in employee wages.
