http://www.chaddsford.com/root/wines/images/reds/05-Due-Rossi.jpgWhile my friends and family are digging their way out of 2 feet of snow up north, I’m down in sunny Orlando decorating my Christmas tree, listening to Pandora, and drinking red wine. Life is good.

Tonight’s pour is the ’05 Due Rossi received from Chaddsford Winery. Due Rossi means “two reds”, and is a blend of two Italian varieties: 63% Barbera and 37% Sangiovese. The wine is from their “Portfolio Collection” and retails online for $24.99. 688 cases were produced.

A bouquet of violets, blackberry, vanilla, and red fruit help set the stage for your first sip, where you’re quickly seduced by layers of ripe jammy fruit and licorice. A medium-bodied wine that delivers quality and value from the first pour to the last. A dynamic wine from Chaddsford Winery and another reason Pennsylvania is a state on the rise!

  1. Hey, I’m sipping red wine and enjoying Pandora too; but missing the sun shine:-) That wine sounds pretty tasty – are both of those varieties grown in PA?

  2. Hi Dezel,
Believe it or not, I’m actually missing the snow. Hard to get into the holiday spirit with 70 degree temps outside. To answer your question, yes, both are grown by Chaddsford Winery. Highly recommend!
