Pend d’Oreille 2006 Wood River Vineyard Malbec

Pend d’Oreille 2006 Wood River Vineyard Malbec

I’ve been fortunate to have enjoyed several great wines over the past month from wineries previously featured on TheOther46.com.  From hearty reds to crisp whites, I’ve quickly filled my cork bag to the brim.  So what better of a time to spend a little wine time this week providing a quick recap.

Up first is the 2006 Wood River Vineyard Malbec from Pend d’Oreille Winery located in Sandpoint, Idaho.  I’ve praised their lineup of wines to date, with tonight’s wine being no different.  The Malbec hails from their reserves collection and retails for $29.  Coming in at 12.6% alcohol, 149 cases were produced of this Snake River Valley red.  In the glass, a ruby red color preludes a beautiful nose of violet and cherry.  On the palate, a rich, jammy wine.  A delicious sipper or a great match with a wide variety of dishes.  I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Idaho continues to impress, and especially Pend d’Oreille Winery.  Cheers!
